La Folía generally takes place on the second Sunday after Easter, coinciding with the high tide of the afternoon, which is the best time for the maritime procession. For this reason, it does not have a fixed date every year.
During La Folía, the streets of the town are filled with people and the waters with decorated boats. Everything you look you can see white and blue, the colours of Our Lady of La Barquera. However, you can enjoy not only the procession but also a wide program of activities, such as pilgrimages, open-air dances and an endless number of musical performances.
